I am Scott Muzzey, I am a drummer and Welcome to my Page!!
I started playing the drums over 50 years ago at the age of 7 or 8, in the local elementary school band. I got my first drum kit at the age of 11 or 12. As a young teen, I started playing with other local musicians, as there were many in my hometown of Lombard, IL. In 1983, I joined a local heavy metal band, Hedstone. We played at many local Chicagoland bars in the early to mid 1980’s, such as Malo’s, The Showcase Lounge, Isn’t Its?, and the Thirsty Whale. In 1986, I took what I thought would be a temporary break, as I was going to become a first-time Dad. Well that temporary break lasted almost 30 years. I had only practiced my drums during those years, and had rarely done so most of that time. Then about 10 years, a very dear friend and fellow musician took me under his musical wing. This friend, whom I used to jam with back in high school, asked me if I wanted to “make noise” again. We started to jam again together, and eventually others joined in. Since then, I have played in a couple of bands, as well as participated in several local area open jams.
This journey has lead me to rediscover my passion for the drums and all things rhythm! I have learned that I am a true musician, as true musicians cannot quit music, because one cannot quit who they are. Being a musician is part of one’s being, and not just a hobby one dabbles in. I dedicate this page to showing the public my passion for the drums!
